Catalytic Converters
We Buy Catalytic Converters in Pretoria & Gauteng
JBR Waste Management & Recycling buys catalytic converters from individuals, workshops, scrapyards and businesses. Each unit is assessed on its own merits and quoted accordingly.
Types we buy
Converters we accept
If you are unsure what you have, send a photo — we will identify it for you.
Ceramic Catalytic Converters
The most common type, using a ceramic honeycomb monolith. Value depends on the substrate weight, condition and precious-metal loading.
Metallic Catalytic Converters
Foil-based converters found on many performance and imported vehicles. We assess these separately as the metal content differs from ceramic units.
Scrap Catalytic Converters
Damaged, cut, rusted or partially emptied units. Send photos and we will tell you honestly whether there is recoverable value.
Used Catalytic Converters
Removed during a repair, service or exhaust replacement. Workshops, panel shops and scrapyards are welcome to enquire about regular volumes.
The process
How selling a converter to JBR works
- 01
Send photos and details
WhatsApp or email clear photos of the converter, including any part numbers or codes stamped on the body.
- 02
We assess the converter
We identify the type, check the condition and evaluate the likely precious-metal content.
- 03
We provide a quotation
You receive a clear offer for that specific converter. No obligation to accept.
- 04
Arrange collection or delivery
Bring the converter to us or arrange collection in Pretoria and surrounding Gauteng areas.
- 05
Payment is made
Once the unit is verified and accepted, payment is made by cash or EFT.
Why we don't publish fixed converter prices
No two catalytic converters are the same. Value depends on the specific converter, its make and model, the type and weight of the substrate inside it, its condition, and the precious-metal content it holds. International metal markets also move daily. For that reason JBR quotes each converter individually after assessment, rather than advertising a fixed price that could mislead you.
